Current Research

My research in the Osuji lab is focused on the understanding of the transition dynamics of discotic liquid crystal.  The isotropic-nematic phase separation in liquid crystal-solvent mixtures is one of my particular interests.  

Past Research

Prior to joining the Osuji lab, I acquired Ph. D. in engineering, advised by Professor Keiji Tanaka from Kyushu University, Japan.  My doctorate research was focused on controlling the mechanical properties of biopolymer films and the understanding dynamics of the polymer adsorption at a solid interface.  In addition, the research in Stony Brook University, advised by Professor Tadanori Koga, was focused on the effect of polymer adsorbed layers on the self-assembly structure of block copolymer thin films.
